The Wing Bowl is an annual chicken wing eatting contest that was founded in 1993 by two Philadelphia radio hosts, Al Morganti and Angelo Cataldi. Since its start in 1993, the Wing Bowl that began as a radio promotion has grown into an extremely competitive and exciting tradition in Philadelphia.
The Wing Bowl is usually held on the Friday preceding the Super Bowl and is broadcasted live from the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia by WIP (AM radio).
The winner of Wing Bowl 17 will receive a 2009 Mini Clubman courtesy of Mini Of The Main Line. The Wingette of the Year will receive a 2009 Harley Davidson 883 Sportster Motorcycle courtesy of Barb`s Harley Davidson as well as a pair of one carat diamond earings from Steven Singer Jewelers and a day of beauty from 800 West Salon and Day Spa. The winner of best entourage will receive an Apple Vacation to Cancun or Punta Cana for the eater and everyone in the entourage.
